Good, Better, Best. 3 phases of the same card
Taking one project from a simple stamping project and transforming to an “all holds barred” project.

Lets begin with the simple stamping card. This may fall a bit above the bar of “simple” in hindsight, it would not be a problem to remove the either layer attached to the card base and just do the stamping on the card base. The cardbase would definately change to Whisper White or Very Vanilla. On my Step 1 simple card I used Old Olive for the card base cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″; Calypso Coral Matt cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″; a piece of watercolor paper cut to 3-3/4″ x 5″. I create several watercolor paper backgrounds at one time and incorporate into projects with ease. For these backgrounds, I dabbed the inks from the Stampin’ pads onto a glazed tile, then created a striated effect typically using 3 easily blendable colors. Each background is different, so I will list all colors in the products list below. Then in Night of Navy stamp the butterflies. From Thankful Thoughts stamp the sentiment. Attach watercolor paper to Calypso Coral matt with Tear N’ Tape and attach that to the Old Olive card front with Tear N’ Tape.

To step up the same design a bit farther, from the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (DSP) use the Butterfly Duet Punch to cut a few butterflies from the DSP of colored large butterflies (yellow/orange background) and from the sheet with the small colored butterflies (yellow background). Stamp the sentiment to the lower corner of the watercolor paper in Old Olive. Cut a piece of gold thread approx. 12″ long. Curl the thread around to a size that works for your card. Attach the thread to the watercolor paper with a touch of liquid glue in a couple of spots. Hold the thread in place for a bit to give the glue an opportunity to adhere and begin to dry. Attach the butterflies with liquid glue in strategic locations to hide the glue spots on the thread. Attach a piece of Whisper White Cardstock cut to 4″x5-1/4″ to the center of the inside of the card, then glue a small butterfly to the lower right corner.

To take this card up 1 more notch, I used the Big Shot to cut out a banner for the sentiment and added some sparkle with the Gingham Gala Irredescent flower sequins. Again, attached a Whisper White panel cut to 4″ x 5-1/4 to the inside of the card and glued a little butterfly to the lower right corner.
