For week #2 of September, Patricia has pulled together this super fun sketch challenge. Can’t what to see where this inspiration piece takes your mind. Please do create a card and then post it in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.

The leaves are just beginning to fall and there is actually a crisp nip to the air in my southeastern corner of the U.S., so I find myself in an Autumn/Fall frame of mind. Therefore….leaves are the focal point of this card.

This card came together pretty quickly with the Rustic Harvest Suite. I used a strip of patterned paper from the Rustic Harvest DSP pack. Stamped the leaf image from the Hello Harvest stamp set inked with Pumpkin Pie and Mango Melody, stamped the image on Basic White cardstock then die cut it with the coordinating die from the Rustic Pumpkin Dies. Glued the strip to the Crumbcake card base. Played around with the leaf organization, then glued the stamped leaves to the DSP strip. The Maple leaf tag is attached with dimensionals for depth and interest. The sentiment “Thinking of you” from the Beauty of Friendship stamp set, is stamped in Old Olive, die cut with a Stitched Rectangles Die then glued to the leaf and a dimensional playing its supporting role. Inside nothing much to write home about – I simply glued the left over edge of the DSP strip in the lower corner. Easy Peasy.

Hindsight being what it is….I’m thinking some texture would look nice on the leaf tag. Something simple, textural……I will have to investigate that further.
