Gorgeous color combination for our color challenge this week! With
Christmas creations going into full production, I’ve been wondering about my Christmas creations to share with family and friends, this is where I went with our color challenge this week. Why? Most likely because my son is currently on the basketball college recruitment trail and he/we have been spending a lot of time in country town USA. Red barns have always just been a stunning photographic opportunity for me. Any red barn will do – just love them. So with holidays fast approaching (believe it or not) my head is in the country with big red barns and I can’t help but associate snow with the holiday season. Even though, my dot on the map doesn’t really allow for such beautiful, magical settings of this sort too often.

For this card I focused on one stamp set, a couple of dies, some blending and masking – to me this card was still easy to pull together, especially when the masks and die cuts were created previously! Bit of a cheat. I used the Christmas Barn Bundle, which includes the Christmas Barn Stamp set and Barn Dies.

I Used Archival Black Ink to stamp the barn on basic white cardstock. I used Merry Merlot to watercolor the barn using an aqua brush. Once it was dried, I put a mask over the barn and stamped the Pine Trees in Mossy Meadow 1st and 2nd generation ink – I liked the depth. I masked the pine trees to blend in the calypso coral for a setting/rising sun. I attached some previously die cut pine trees, then die cut the finished panel with a Stitched Rectangles Die. Matted the finished front panel to a piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock then attached that to a basic white cardstock top folding card base. Inside the card, I repeated the 1st and 2nd generation stamping of the pine trees. The sentiment is stamped on the card base in Mossy Meadow.
