I am absolutely in love with this card! First off, I love the look, colors and smell of lavender. So much so that I have anything and everything connected to it. Lavender shower gel and lotion, essential oil for my laundry, diffusers, candles, etc. So it is a natural progression that I had to have the Lavender Suite. I personally don’t do much with patterned paper unless I can connect with the majority of the patterns in the pack, this set is a success with me – purple is always welcome, I adore the natural rustic feel of crumb cake – this entire suite has won me over. For this card, I had the overwhelming need to add in the Simply Zinnia bundle – for an additional touch of color. It feels more like a flower garden with that addition which also works perfectly for a birthday card. The Crumb cake gingham patterned paper works so well for the background – and I simply love the pattern. The colors are what makes me the happiest with Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape for the lavender. Berry Burst, Lofty Lemon, Pumpkin Pie, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape cardstock for the Zinnia. The leaves are Mossy Meadow and Old Olive cardstock. The flowers and leaves are cut with the coordinating Simply Zinnia die set. The sentiment is from the Notes of Nature stamp set, stamped in Crumb Cake on Basic White cardstock and die cut with the Tailor Made Tags die set. The final touches of the Natural Wavy Trim – which is hands down my favorite ribbon/trim of all, and a dash of purple and sparkle on the tag with the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems (another piece to the Painted Lavender Suite.)

Halloween is fun, but it seriously gives me the hee-bee-gee-bees! I sit back and let my kids have the fun. While they have all the fun, I am genuinely highly uncomfortable! So, for this card I decided to give a subtle nod to the Halloween festivities yet staying firmly planted in the Fall Theme of things!

I started with a top folding Basic Black card base. The decorative 2″ strip at the bottom is Evening Evergreen Glimmer Paper with a 1-1/2″ topper of a patterned paper from the Lights Aglow Specialty DSP pack. I used the Witch Hat Builder Punch for witches hat, also Evening Evergreen Glimmer paper. Using the same punch I also used up some scrap gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock to get the stars and band on the hat. Everything else comes from the Rustic Harvest Suite. The pumpkin image is stamped on Cajun Craze card stock in Cajun Craze ink. I added more depth with watercolor pencils in Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso and white. After fussy cutting the Pumpkin, sometimes I just don’t like the border that die cutting leaves, I then inked the bottom edge with Early Espresso. I dry embossed 2 leaves from Leaf Labels and Amber Gems pack, with Timber 3D Embossing Folder, just for some texture. Using some scraps of Gold Brushed Metallic Cardstock and Evening Evergreen Glimmer paper, I die cut the swirly bits for “filler”. The leaves are glued to the DSP strip, the swirly bits are glued to the back of the pumpkin, the pumpkin is attached with dimensionals to the leaves. The hat is the last to be glued on for best placement. The sentiment, “You are such a Blessing also comes from the Hello Harvest stamp set, it is heat embossed in gold, on the black card base. I added the amber gems for a bit more pizzazz and detail. I adore them on the witches hat. Inside of the card is lined with a piece of Basic White cardstock that has also been gold heat embossed with a Witches hat and a few stars from the Bewitching Stamp Set. Note to self: Don’t heat emboss the liner images after attaching it to the card base. Why? warping….bad warping!
