CAS Colours & Sketches Sketch Challenge #489

Hey! Thanks for stopping by my little happy spot. Take a look around and hope you enjoy.

We would love to see what card creation you can bring to life. Please consider, taking a minute to post your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.

The final challenge that Valerie brings us this month is a fun sketch challenge. This one proved to be a formidable challenge – it had me thinking for quite a while – not real sure what the block was – but it finally came to me. What were you inspired to create? We would love to see your card creation, please post it to our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches!

When my head finally came out of the fog – this is where I headed:

I created my own circle stencil by using a large circle punch and cardstock – I used that circle stencil and a blending brush using Garden Green and So Saffron ink to create the center circle element. I used the Versamark pad and the Memento Tuxedo Black pad on the wildflower image (first versamark, topped off with the black) then using the Stamparatus, I stamped the image into the circle. I stamped it a couple of times just to be sure I would a crisp clean image when I heat embossed with clear powder. I use the Stamparatus when I heat emboss, or when stamping the sentiments, so I can stamp more than once – accurately – to be sure I get a clean, solid image. I also prefer to use Versamark with Black ink when I want to heat emboss in Black. I like the longevity the Versamark ink provides when used in combination with the Black ink (or any other ink of choice) then cover with clear embossing powder. Much cleaner final product for me – I can’t seem to see or swipe away all the black embossing powder – the “no see ’ems” always raise their little hateful heads as soon as the heat gun hits them – and I swear they were not there to begin with! Any color ink and clear embossing powder is a hands down winner every time! You can heat emboss over any ink without the Versamark – but you gotta be quick and ready to go! Versamark helps extend the time, just incase your fingers (or mind) decide to get tangled up in the “rush”.
