Cecile, our hostess at CAS Colours & Sketches for November, kicks us off with a really fun sketch. I have so many thoughts running through my head for this one. Something finally came together, I would love to see you you were inspired to create. Please consider posting your card creation to our challenge gallery.
Yet again my head is swirling in the Christmas Whirlwind. One of my favorite go to images for Christmas cards in pine sprigs with pinecones, or holly sprigs with berries. I went with the pine sprigs combining berries and pinecones. I needed the berries for a bit of a filler and color. I went with Garden Green and Shaded Spruce for the pine needles. Soft Suede and Crumb cake on Crumb cake cardstock for the pinecone. Soft Suede and Cherry Cobbler for the berries and stem. The triangles are tilted 45 degrees or so, and are created with the pine sprigs and the pinecone is where they intersect. Everything but the sentiment came from Christmas Season Stamp set and the coordinating dies called Seasonal Labels. The sentiment “Joy” – came from the Brightest Glow Stamp set. The front panel has been die cut with a deckled edge rectangle die and attached to the basic white standard side folding card base. Yes, the card should be square – some how that detail escaped my attention until it came to posting the card. Thankfully, Cecile left that option open. Square cards are fun, they are just not my norm, and somehow I overlooked that detail! I apologize. Inside the card, I decorated the lower corner with a one triangle version of the front.
