Welcome to our 2nd challenge of the month, a sketch challenge. Our hostess, Joanne has selected a sketch she enjoys using. We would love to see how your imagination is sparked with this sketch. Please do post your card creations to our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.
I had some very Friendly Gnomes, that were politely but loudly trying to get my attention. It finally worked so here they are, my Friendly Gnomes to help us begin to celebrate the coming of Spring in my little space on the worldly globe. In my little spot on the map, the daffodils are in full bloom, the azaleas are beginning to think about it, this week will have highs in the 70’s(F). Spring has sprung! This little stamp set, quite nicely fit my requirements and with a little help they fit quite nicely into this sketch as well.
I used an Old Olive Green top folding standard A5 card base. I dry embossed a quarter piece of Basic White Card with the Fern 3D embossing folder, cut it down to 5-1/4″ x 4″, then cut a piece of Dainty Flowers DSP as a border on top of the embossed panel. I punched out an oval-ish background using a retired label punch. The gnome and flowers come from the Friendly Gnomes Stamp set. I stamped out the gnomes and flowers on a piece of Basic White cardstock scrap in Tuxedo Black, colored in with Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Soft Suede, Rich Razzleberry and Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Markers. The sentiment came from the same stamp set and is stamped in Tuxedo Black on a scrap of Basic White cardstock. I used the paper trimmer to cut it out straight. The inside is lined with a quarter piece of Basic White cardstock, I used the same patterned paper to create a bottom border inside the card. There she is, my hats off to spring card.

Such an adorable card, Shannon! I love the little dwarf lady (or is it dwarfette?), she’s so cool!
