A sketch challenge, brought to you by Cecile and the CAS Colours & Sketches Design Team! I love slimline cards, though they never really pop into my mind to create until a challenge arises and I am reminded how much fun/a break in the routine, they can be. I tell myself I need to make more, then I seem to fall back into the familiar rut. How about you, surely I’m not alone – right? So loving this sketch, I need a lot of birthday cards over the next couple of months so this definitely got me rolling in the Birthday card mode. What does this sketch inspire you to create? We would love to see everyone’s creative ideas, so please do post your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.

Like I said earlier, I am going to need a ton of birthday cards over the next couple of months, so this sketch is going towards birthday wishes. I also have a zesty stamp set that has been begging for my attention, so straight into the limelight we go – really bad puns but totally inspired by the images of this zesty set called Sweet Citrus. Granny Apple Green is the color of choice for what I think needs to be a lime. Why? No idea – was feeling green and limes and Granny Apple Green seemed to be the perfect choice. For a bit of a break from the green I also stamped some of the flower images from the set in Highland Heather. I needed to research the blooms since I wasn’t absolutely positive they were white flowers, which they are but also have hints of purple in the petals and yellow stamen. So there it is, a white flower with a hint of Highland Heather and Crushed Curry. The sentiment “Have a Zesty Birthday” is also stamped in Granny Apple Green and comes from the Sweet Citrus stamp set as well. Parts and pieces are cut with the coordinating die set.

Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. Below are pictured links to all the items used for this card, click the link of the item to be taken to my online store where you can learn more about each item. I will return soon with something new. Until then, stay safe, and by all means keep crafting, exploring and creating. See you soon.
