CC&S Sketch Challenge #423 Forever Elegant Dragonflies for Fathers Day

Week 2 of June, summer is already flying by. This week at CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge, we have a sketch challenge to inspire you. I am quite anxious to see what this sketch inspires you to create, so please do post your creation on our blog by Monday 14 June at 6:00pm EST.

I needed to create a couple of Father’s Day cards, so that is the theme for this sketch. I was trying to create a moonlit night in a wide open field with dragonflies catching the rays of moonlight in their wings, and all the foliage casting the silvery glow. I used the Forever Flourishing Dies on gold Foil paper, the Dragon Fly punch for the Vellum dragon fly, and a circle punch with silver foil to create the moon and to round out my 3 images. The strip of patterned paper is a pattern from the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series Paper. The background texture is embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. The sentiment “your the best” is from the A Good Man stamp set and is stamped in Basic Gray on a piece of Basic White cardstock scrap then die cut with the Tailor Made Tags dies. Inside the card is a strip of leftover pattern paper from the front used as a border and another punch dragonfly from gold foil paper.
