Country Home makes one more appearance at CAS Colours & Sketches

This post brings you another card from the set that I have deemed for my personal challenge of using one set for an entire week – come what may – most of the time. This card is inspired and created for a color challenge #343 at CAS Colours & Sketches.

Lets just jump right into it! I was dying to use the sentiment in the Country Home set “You are the Happy to my Day” and these happy colors just made that so easy!

The card base is a half sheet of Whisper White Thick cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ to create a side folding card.

On a piece of Whisper White card stock cut with a Stitched Rectangle Die is a wash of Pool Party using an image from the Love What you Do stamp set. On a larger piece of scrap Whisper White, the cotton stalk bouquet and milk can images are stamped in Coffee Archival Ink. The bouquet and milk can are colored with Pool Party Stampin’ Blends Combo, Real Red Stampin’ Write Marker and Pacific Point is used as a watercolor in the center of the pods, the trim on the milk can and the center vein of the leaves and flower. The cotton is shaded with a tiny bit of Light Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends to give them a boost in flavor! On the trim of the milk can – I taped on a bit of Whisper White craft ink to soften the edge of the water color and to distress it just a bit. Then I fussy cut the image and adhered to the Whisper White mat with dimensionals

The sentiment ” You are the Happy to my Day” is from the Country Home Stamp Set as well. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and Real Red ink, then clear heat embossed it to give it a more oomph! Then die cut with a die from a discontinued set called the Wonderful Floral Framelits dies. It is attached to the Whisper White mat with liquid adhesive.

The finished front panel is adhered to another mat of Real Red also die cut with a larger Stitched Rectangle Die. The Unit is then attached to the Whisper White card base with liquid adhesive.

In this case, I couldn’t come up with a suitable interior finish, so I had to sadly leave it be.
