Hey! Thanks for stopping by my little happy spot. Take a look around and hope you enjoy.
We would love to see what card creation you can bring to life. Please consider, taking a minute to post your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.
This is going to be a really quick post – its the holidays and post Thanksgiving I find myself behind the 8-ball.
Its the 5th week at the end of the month, our loyal followers will know what that means – its double challenge time. Joanne has prepared a new color combo using some favorite retired Stampin’ Up colors and a sketch from one of our previous challenges. We would love to see how this combination has inspired you, after you have had your creative fun with this combination link your creation to our CAS Colours & Sketches Gallery for this challenge.
This is a one set wonder card! While creating this Grateful card, another thought occurred to me for a holiday card using the same sketch. If your like me, I gotta get the thought created and out of my head. I thought I would include it in this post, since it was inspired by the sketch.
For the Grateful card I created my own patterned paper with the images in the Sparkle of the Season Stamp set, using first and 2nd generation inking with Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and my favorite yellow – Bumblebee. I didn’t have any of these colors in my stash so I went with what I thought looked the closest. I used a Label die from the Seasonal Labels die set. Stamped the “Grateful” sentiment from Sparkle of the Season in Night of Navy, then used 1st and 2nd generation stamping for the berry and branch images in Night of Navy and Cherry Cobbler on the label. Cherry Cobbler cardstock is the accent strip used behind the self created patterned paper.
The Holiday card uses the Christmas Season stamp set for pine sprigs and berries. The sentiment “Peace Joy Love” comes from the Inspired Thoughts Stamp set. Again, I used the a label die from the Seasonal Labels die set for the finishing touch. The color combo for this card is Evening Evergreen and Cherry Cobbler. The accent strip is a my favorite pattern from the Tidings of Christmas DSP Pack. I also used the pine branch embossing folder from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder Set. To add dimension and a snowy effect, I swiped the Whisper White pigment ink pad lightly over the embossed pine branches.

Shannon I love both of these cards, but the embossed panel on the Christmas one is particularly effective. So pretty!
