Blog Hops

Fall Stamp It Group Blog Hop

So here we go…another Team Stamp It Blog Hop, with a Fall Theme. Fall Theme fits perfectly into my current mind set. I am so pleased how this card and tag combination came together. The idea in my head actually came together in paper pretty easily, which isn’t always the case. Hope you enjoy!

This combo is truly a mixed media creation – Ink, stenciling with Modeling Paste, fibers, paper, texture, pattern, dimension, embellishments – I’m in love.

First I tinted some homemade texture paste with Old Olive and Pretty Peacock re-inkers – apparently I have lost my Mint Macaron Ink refill, so it I needed the blue tint of Pretty Peacock to truly match the Mint Macaron color. Using the “leafy” Basic Pattern Decorative Masks (stencils) I ran the tinted paste over the stencil onto Cinnamon Cider Card stock, then left it to dry.

I turned to the die cutting and stamping of the Sunflower elements and leaves using Bumble Bee, Mint Macaron and Early Espresso card stock. Stamping and additional edge inking is done with the coordinating ink color, then loosely glued all the elements together. The background leaf sprigs are cut with the Sunflower Dies from the Brushed Metallic gold cardstock, part of the Gilded Autumn Suite. The largest branch of leaves is cut from the Forever Flourishing die set that can be bundled with the Forever Fern stamp set which I used to stamp the branch in Mint Macaron on Mint Macaron card stock. The greeting “Let’s Celebrate You” is stamped in Mint Macaron on Very Vanilla card, it is from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp set.

The pattern paper is a beautiful Mint Macaron print with brushed gold foiling from the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper, the ribbon is 1/2″ Basket Weave ribbon in Mint Macaron. Both of these items are also in the Gilded Autumn Suite. With everything dried, cut and inked, the card comes together quickly. Attached to the stenciled Cinnamon Cider front panel is the patterned paper with inked edges, the seam is covered with Mint Macaron ribbon, the gold ribbon is attached with tear n tape, the leaves are lightly glued so they can pop off adding depth and dimension, The Sunflower is attached with dimensionals, as is the greeting that has also been punched out using the Banner Label Punch

The final flourish is 1/4″ Gold Shimmer Ribbon and the 2020-2022 In-color Enamel Dots.

The very same process and elements are used on the tag, simply rearranged to fit the smaller substrate. I love how the tag turned out to be a bit more rustic (shabby chic) than the card.

Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. Below are pictured links to all the items used for this card, click the link of the item to be taken to my online store where you can learn more about each item. Don’t forget to comment in the comment section below for a chance to win the item pictured above. I will return soon with something new. Until then, stay safe, stay healthy and without doubt, keep on crafting, exploring and creating.

Hey there, Thank you so much for all of YOUR enthusiasm. So glad you liked them. The recipe I used for texture paste is just something I found on youtube. I think it was by Lorriemarie Jenkins – a mixed media artist. It has Gesso, Baby Powder (so it smells really good) and I think some glue, it dries super fast. Sunflowers and Daisies are my favorite flowers hands down, ask me to choose between the two and it cannot be done. Thanks so much for hopping by and best of luck to you in the drawing.
