How are you all holding up? I know most of us are worried and really tired of looking at the same walls. In time, we will get through this unprecedented world wide craziness. It appears China may be finally coming out from under this, if we all keep doing what the CDC is suggesting we do, we too will pull through this. Until then, we all need to

  • Love one another.
  • Find something that brings Joy to you, your kids, your family, friends, neighbors and/or community. I enjoy getting outside, playing in the sunshine with my kids, Frisbee, basketball, gardening, reading, taking a walk, even camping in the backyard. Fresh air and sunshine are an instant mood booster. Hit amazon, or if you can get into a store for some necessities pick up a few inexpensive, time filling, gifts to bring some joy to the kids, family or friends who are bored out of their gourds. Puzzles, dominoes, checkers, glue, markers, paper, etc. To fill some more time, make the gift part of a treasure hunt.
  • Try to find some Peace in all of this. This is a tall, tough order to fill. Share your strengths with family, friends, neighbors and your community. Offering your strengths to others in need can go a long way towards finding the good and peace in any situation.
  • Always be Patient with everyone. We all handle stress and many different ways, not just dealing with our own stress but dealing with how others handle stress can be quite unnerving. Just be patient, we all have to get through these times by working together the best we can.
  • Kindness should be easy and truly feeds off of patience. Being Kind to others will put everyone at ease. Check in on family and friends, sometimes that simple act alone can change the mood of someone else.
  • Exhibit Self-Control which leans on Patience and Kindness. Simply by realizing everyone is in the same boat, you having more toilet paper than the next guy is just going to make the next guy snap. What if it is a child, a disabled person, an elderly person that is left with less or nothing?

There are my thoughts on all of this….Kindness, Self Control and Patience will take you far. So how about we get back to crafting!

The card I have for you with this post is a fun fold card. This is the Drapery Fold. I think it is a lot of fun to work with. I like to scour the internet/Pinterest for new ideas or something that sets of the creativity spark. I found this, I think on Pinterest, so this is not my own new fantastic creation. I found this at Scrappy-Hour.com. There are so many sources out there for a variety of ways to create this fold.

For this card, I chose to use Lily Impressions Designer Series Paper. This pattern just speaks to me and I love all the colors and patterns that coordinate both sides. It is best for this type of drapery fold to start with a 12″ x 12″ piece of paper – cardstock is bit to thick and looks rather bulky. Cut a strip that measures 4″ x 11-1/2″. If using a pattern that runs in one direction, be mindful of how you cut the paper so the pattern will run in the correct direction once cut and folded. Score across the long side at 3″, 4″, 6″, 7″, 9″ and 10″. Figure out how you want this to fold, keeping in mind the pattern (if necessary) If you want the long drapery edge to begin on the left of the card, like the purple and the melon mambo cards pictured above, with a pencil, draw a line from the bottom of the 3″ score line to 1″ down from the top right corner. Notice the smallest flap at the top of the fold on the purple or melon mambo card. Cut along that pencil line and fold along the score lines. If you would like the folds to run along the bottom of the card (or the opposite of the purple or melon mambo card), draw your pencil line from the top point of the 3″ score line to the lower right corner 1″ from the bottom. Once you score, cut and fold your drapery, it can be oriented however it works for you on the card. Just be mindful of the pattern and of which way the diagonal cut needs to occur. The white heat embossed sentiment “a little note” is from the Butterfly Gala Stamp set. The Garden Green stamped sentiment “Thanks a Bunch” is from the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.

This was a super fun card to play with, you ought to give it a shot and see where you can take it.

Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. Below are pictured links to all the items used for this card, click the link of the item to be taken to my online store where you can learn more about each item. I will return soon with something new. Until then, stay safe, stay healthy and without doubt, keep on crafting, exploring and creating.
