This post brings to you the inspiration piece I finally settled with for the Sketch Challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches #363
This card is what I feel is clean and simple – I absolutely love the color scheme and how the card turned out. The sister card that I posted earlier was probably a bit to bold and busy, so I chose this one as my inspiration piece for you. This card uses one stamp set, Hold on to Hope and its coordinating die set Cross of Hope. The Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper pattern I chose for the mat, is really soothing, that watercolor wash effect just puts my heart at ease every time. I love how the Highland Heather oval compliments the shades of green. The Oval is cut from the largest oval in the Stitched Shapes Die set. The vine image is colored with Stampin’ Write markers in Highland Heather and Old Olive, quickly stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White then die cut with the coordinating die from the Cross of Hope dies. The Cross is first cut with the solid cross die in Champagne Foil. The intricate cross overlay is cut with a die in the same set from Vellum. I love the softness the vellum can bring to even a shiny image. The vine is wrapped around the cross, attached to the Highland Heather Oval to create the focal point. A touch of sparkle is added with the Gold Metallic Pearls. Inside the card is stamped a flower image from the stamp set that is also colored with Highland Heather and Old Olive Stampin’ Write markers, then quickly stamped in the lower corner.
