Gotta say, I am a bit nervous with this post! This is my very first time as a Design Team Member at CAS Colours & Sketches to host a challenge! We all were able to choose which week/thus the challenge we wanted to host. I chose this week and these colors, I feel like my left brain is better suited for color challenge as opposed to sketches, a little less confining I guess. So, how about everyone create a card with these colors – or a close likeness, post it for this CAS Colours & Sketches Color Challenge #375 on the challenge blog and have this one be the biggest and best challenge ever created! Whataya say! Ok delusions of grandeur have now left the building, here is what I came up with for this challenge.

When it was time for me to get my color choices to the team, I was already working on a Fathers Day card for the Stamp It Group Blog Hop with a Fathers Day Theme. I had a color scheme already in my head for that, so with a little tweaking this is the color scheme I have for you. Since I was already in the Fathers Day frame of mind, here is a Father’s Day card I created for this challenge. I did a Good, Better Best scenario, I will picture all 3 cards, but the easiest and simplest is what I chose to use as my inspiration card.

To start, I used the Clubhouse Bundle for these cards. The card of interest with this post is simply using the Clubhouse Cling Stamp set. With Memento Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the Golfer image directly on the Whisper White card front. Using Night of Navy I stamped the sentiment “You’re the Greatest Guy By Par” directly on the card front. I colored the Golfer image with Watercolor Pencils in Night of Navy and Real Red, I did use the Cherry Cobbler pencil to add a bit of depth and shadow. I colored the sky with the So Saffron Stampin’ Blends Combo pack and added a bit of depth to the sky using the Crushed Curry pencil. I gave the inside of the card a tiny bit of attention by stamping the golf club image from this set in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

The other cards used layers using Night of Navy and So Saffron card stock, and die cuts from the coordinating Golf Club Dies, the Stitched Rectangle Dies and a Banner Die from my stash. On the stepped up versions for the Night of Navy background I used one of the mini-embossing folders from the Greenery Embossing Folder Collection and the the So Saffron layer I used the good old universally used Subtle Embossing Folder.

Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. Below are pictured links to all the items used for this card, click the link of the item to be taken to my online store where you can learn more about each item. If you would like to learn more about this challenge or to see what other talented designers have created for this challenge, hop on over to CAS Colours & Sketches. I will return soon with something new. Until then, stay safe, and by all means keep crafting, exploring and creating. See you soon.
