Happy Birthday Coach!
A Birthday Card for my son’s middle school basketball coach
The card Mise en Place:
Basic Black Cardstock cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ as the card base. Whisper White Cardstock cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″ for the front panel, and another piece cut to 3″x 2″ for the sentiment. Tangelo Twist cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″ for the matte, and another piece 3-1/4″ x 2-1/4″ for the sentiment matte. Extra scrap will be needed for the punched balloons. Note: Tangelo Twist is now retired, was in my stash and matched the school colors, so I went with it – use any color you choose or Pumpkin Pie would be a suitable alternative.
The Stamparatus is a life saver when it comes to these 2 or more part stamps. This cupcake from the Hello Cupcake set is a 3 or 4 step stamp, the Stamparatus makes it easy work. Set up the Whisper White cardstock panel on the Stamparatus, place the front of the wrapper down on the paper. Press acrylic panel onto stamp, once transferred to the acrylic panel, ink it up. In this case the wrapper is Early Espresso, the cake is Soft Suede, the icing is Pumpkin Pie and the sprinkles are Early Espresso. While the Stamparatus is out, go ahead and stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment from the Blow out the Candles stamp set, in Staz-on Jet Black.
Using some scrap paper, again this is Orange Tangelo – a retired color. However was in the stash and matched the school colors perfectly. Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, in this situation, would be a suitable replacement (or any other color you would like). Use the Balloon Punch to cut out balloons (x2). I have used a small and large balloon on the front of the card with gold thread as the string. There is another large balloon inside the card. Attach the Whisper White Happy Birthday sentiment to the “orange” Sentiment panel. With Dimensionals attached the balloons to the card with the strings hanging down. Attach the fully assembled sentiment banner with dimensionals. Try to get the balloon strings under theses dimensionals so they stay in place a bit better.
The last step would be to attach a Whisper White panel inside the card with Tear & Tape or Snail, then again with Dimensionals attach the balloon to the right side of the card. Sweetly Masculine!
