Sympathy

A friend and her family tragically lost their sweet furbaby. I made this for her.

The items needed for this project:
Crumbcake Cardstock – Cut to 8″x11″, scored at 4-1/4″ (Portrait orientation) Cut at 5-1/2″ (Landscape orientation). This provides 2 card bases with the front panel being slightly shorter than the back panel.
Old Olive Cardstock (scraps): 2 strips cut to 1/2″ x 5″
Whisper White Cardstock cut to 3-1/4″ x 5″ (front panel)
3-3/4″ x 5″ (panel inside card). Additional scrap will be needed for the wreath and the dog punch.
Frosted Floral DSP (scraps) cut to 1-1/2″ x 5″ (inside panel)
Mossy Meadow Cardstock (scraps) cut 2 branches from Flourish Thinlit set (placed on wreath)
Happy Tails Photopolymer Stamp set
Wishing You Well Photopolymer Stamp set
Dog Builder Punch
Flourish Thinlits.
Circle Dies (cut out wreath)
12″ of 3/16″ Braided Linen Ribbon (Could use to replace the ribbon in the photo which was retired). Used for bow and ribbon trim on front.

Begin with the Whispser White Panel 3-1/4″ x 5″ for the front of the card. Attach a 1/2″ x 5″ Old Olive strip to the left edge of the panel with snail. Attach a 6″ length of ribbon to the left edge of the Old Olive strip with snail. I find it easiest to run snail down the back of the ribbon tip to tip, then wrap around the panel and attach to back. This way it is guaranteed to stay in place, making it so much easier to keep the ribbon straight. On the bottom center of the panel stamp the sentiment in Dark Espresso. Center and attach the fully constructed panel to the front of the card with snail or tear & tape.

Construct the interior panel by using the Whisper White panel 3-3/4″ x 5″. Attach the1-1/2″ x 5″ Frosted Floral DSP strip to the right edge of the panel. Attach the final 1/2″ x 5″ Old Olive strip to the left edge of the DSP. Make sure all edges are lined up and straight. Center the inside stamped sentiment, also from the Happy Tails stamp set, in the exposed space of the white panel, if you so choose. Attach finished panel with Snail or Tear & Tape to the center of the cardbase.

Lets construct the final piece of this card, the wreath. On a scrap piece of Whisper White use the Dog Builder Punch. From the Happy Tails stamp set, stamp the dog outline on the punched out piece. I stamped with Early Esspresso. Choose the spots that work for you, if you want spots and stamp them in whatever color works for you. Cajun Craze and Early Espresso worked best for this situation. The Dog Builder punch also had a heart, you can color it red and place on the dogs chest with a dot of liquid glue. On more Winter White Card stamp the wreath from the Wishing You Well stamp set. Using circle die cuts that fit the wreath around the outside and the another that fits the inside of the wreath, head to the Big Shot to cut out the wreath. While at the machine, get the branch die from the Flourish Thinlits, cut out 2 branches on Mossy Meadow scrap. Moving on to the the final component the bow, tie the final piece of 6″ ribbon into a bow. Attach the branches to the wreath with dots of liquid glue where needed. Attach the dog to the wreath, over the branches, with liquid glue where needed. Attach the colored heart from the punch to the chest of the dog with a dot of liquid glue. Attach the wreath to the Whisper White panel with dimensionals.
