Thinking of you

Another Card for my friend going through a very rough chapter in her life for the third time. I am going to give her a card every week, just to brighten her day.

This is a very simple and quick card. I take time, as time requires, to replenish precut pieces of the card stock I most commonly use. I cut some Designer Series Paper into standard panel sizes and I also create watercolor backgrounds on water color paper, in the colors I most often lean towards so I can grab and go. That would be the case here – The watercolor background was created earlier and uses Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron and Night of Navy. The sentiment panel is Flirty Flamingo and Whisper White cardstock previously cut to a standard size. I did wind up cutting the length down on those panels a bit. The majority of the stamping was done in Basic Gray, the inside wash of color was done using a retired stamp Pink Pirouette. Sentiments, wash background and stamps came from the stamp sets By the Bay (which just looks and feels relaxing to me – if it has anything to do with English Countryside or Coastline, Count me in!). The inside message and color wash come from Love What you Do.

I then colored in the landscape and birds with Stampin’ Up! colored pencils. Some colors came exclusive to the Stampin’ Up! card sets – The Cute Crew Punch and the Lots of Happy Card Kit.

Then I attached everything. I added some sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment to the front and to the inside of the cards. On the front, I hand drew some simple flying birds. I think I would have preferred the look of a stamped image, but ….
