Hey! Thanks for stopping by my little happy spot. Take a look around and hope you enjoy.

We would love to see what card creation you can bring to life. Please consider, taking a minute to post your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.

And just like that it is July, hope you guys had a great, fun and safe 4th of July. What did you do? Where did you go? Our hostess for the month of July at CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge is Holly, she has come up with this incredible warm color palette for our first color challenge of the month. Where does this color palette pull you, do they remind you of something from this past festive weekend? The beach, some other location? A walk through the wood? What do you see? We would love to see what these colors inspire you to create! Please share and post your creation on our blog, can’t wait to see how you were inspired!

These colors inspired me to create a nature scene, more or less. A bird, which I prefer to classify as a Yellow and brown Finch standing on an invisible bush with yellowish flowers in the bright sunlight! All while singing a song saying “Hello”.

The sunlit background is 2nd generation Crushed Curry using an image from the Artistically Inked Stamp set On a piece of Basic White cardstock that is then die cut with 2nd Stitched Rectangles die. On a piece of watercolor paper I unleashed all the colors of the challenge – Heavily watered down paper and drops of the challenge colors (from ink refillers) were allowed to become friendly. Once completely dry, I used the bird die from the Iconic Dies set along with the small flowers and Medium flower dies from the Artistic Dies. Attached the Bird and 2 flowers with dimensionals then glued everything else into place. The “hello” greeting is stamped in Pumpkin Pie. I used a Scalloped Contours die to cut the matt from Pumpkin Pie cardstock. Inside the card in the lower corner I attached the medium flower that was cut from the watercolor paper.
