Today I have a card that I am in love with!!! The mountains….there is no better place for me. I am not much of a beach person, I hate the sand. Sights, sounds and smells of the beach, I prefer to enjoy from the beach side condo deck. The sights, sounds and smells of the mountains, now that I can enjoy from the cabin or the hiking trail! We went to Utah & Arizona a couple of summers ago, the sunrises and sunsets over those beautiful mountains were gorgeous. The pictures from that trip are still set as the screensavers on my PC.
This colors that our Design Team member Yoon Young, put together for this color challenge, took me right to those mountain views. What has this color scheme conjured up for you? We would love to see what you create with these beautiful colors in our challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.
I started with a Very Vanilla side folding card base cut 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5-1/2″. This card came together mostly with the Mountain Air Stamp set to create the scene on the front panel as well as on the inside of the card. On Very Vanilla card, I first stuck a 1″ circle as a place holder for the rising sun, then I used brushes to blend together Cherry Cobbler and Mango Melody for the sky, a sky line is not complete without birds! They are also in the Mountain Air set and are stamped with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The mountains are stamped in Cinnamon Cider on Cinnamon Cider card stock then die cut with the coordinating dies. While at the cutting machine, and after a bit of playing with where the mountains needed to be for the skyline, I cut the blended sky with the largest Stitched Nested Label die. The edges of the mountains are inked with Cinnamon Cider to cover the plain cardstock edge left from die cutting, I love the dramatic effect that simple technique added to the scene. I glued the mountain range to the now die cut blended sky, then trimmed them to fit the hexagonal shape. The finished panel is attached to the card base with dimensionals. The greeting “Life is Beautiful” is from the Life is Beautiful stamp set and is stamped in Cinnamon Cider. I treated the inside the same as the front panel, just dialed back a bit.

Paper Pumpkin Subscription Options
The Get & Go Starter Kit promotion is meant to give those who sign up to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator additional products to help them get started right away. In addition to the already great valued Starter Kit, new Stampin’ Up! Team Members will receive precut paper, stamps, and embellishments to use in their first event.
In addition to the regular starter kit (for $99 USD/$135 CAD, new recruits choose $125 USD/$165 CAD-worth of products). Keep in mind, the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine can be used as your Starter Kit. Do you need a new Die-cutting/Dry Embossing machine? The standard size Stampin’ Cut & Embossing Machine is here! The first release will be the standard size machine that will be able to handle the larger size dies and dry embossing folders. Notice in the picture, there is a mini version that will be released a little bit later.

Thank you so much. We went to Utah a couple of summers ago, I have a picture, a screen saver on my monitor, of a setting sun over the mountains that was the inpspiration.

Love how different this is from the rest of our autumnal and boozy cards. LOL! I’m ten minutes from the beach and rarely go. I’m not much for sand either. Lovely card.
This is the most beautiful card Shannon! I love the shape you put your scene into and the soft blend of ink you used for the sky. The drama of those layered mountains makes such a great contrast and the birds are so perfectly positioned. Just sensational! Vicky x
