I have been dying to pull out this set and create something spectacular with it…I think….mission accomplished. I LOVE what came out of this play session.
Can you tell I have been binge watching Mission Impossible with my Husband and Son? I had no idea that there are 6 of these movies out there and a 7th on the way…did you? So, here is my 7 degrees to Tom Cruise story. My mother knows his mother! His mother and a distant family member. He too, like me, grew up in Louisville Ky. crazy right? He is like a 3rd cousin removed or something very distant in the family line. He’s too short and crazy, to be from my family line any way, though he is quite easy on the eyes.
So, all of this is accomplished via a stamp set!! Stamp the image in the Light Me Home stamp set in Momento Tuxedo Black on Whisper White Card Stock, pull out a blending brush and the Stampin’ Up! Blends Markers, and off you go. I use the Cherry Cobbler Blends Combo, Real Red Blends Combo, Old Olive Blends Combo, Mossy Meadow Blends Combo, Smoky Slate Blends Combo, Crumb Cake Blends Combo and Bronze. Coordinating color pencils, a sponge dauber with the Daffodil Delight ink pad, the Whisper White Craft Pigment ink pad and a sponge dauber, a Posca white paint pen and a Black Gel Pen help with the final touches. The greeting “From our Home to Yours” is also from the Light Me Home stamp set, it is heat embossed in white in the upper right corner on the card front. Once I finished the coloring, I trimmed down (and cleaned up) the panel with the 2nd largest Stitched Rectangle die. Matted with another piece of Whisper White Card Stock and then mounted on the Basic Black cardstock base.
The inside of the card is lined with a piece of Whisper White card and stamped with the lamp portion of the Light me Home Stamp set. The lamp image is lightly rendered in colored pencil.
All layers are attached with Tearing Tape, I have developed a rather unfriendly impasse with liquid glue! We just can’t seem to agree on how the final product should look, especially with Whisper white, its hours have been cut way back!
Dimensions:
- Basic Black card base: cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ to a standard A2 side folding card base.
- Whisper White cardstock mat: 3-1/2″ x 4-7/8″
- Whisper White decorative front panel: die cut with 2nd to largest Stitched Rectangles Dies: 3-3/8″ x 4-7/8″
- Whisper White interior liner: 4″ x 5-1/4″
