Ornaments Gleaming Brightly CC&S #399

Hey! Thanks for stopping by my little happy spot. Take a look around and hope you enjoy.

We would love to see what card creation you can bring to life. Please consider, taking a minute to post your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.

Wow, is it just me or do you feel as well, once 2020 decided to get over itself and move on….it put on the racing tires, filled up the tank and took off. I cannot believe that it is already December. Crazy. Today, I have for you a card created for the first of two challenges during the month of December at CAS Colours & Sketches. This is a color challenge, using colors that are used for reference only from Stampin’ Up!. The colors are Blushing Bride, Metallic Silver and Mint Macaron.

Lets jump right in:

Wasn’t to sure how I felt about this color combination at first, but I think they are a gorgeous combination. Typically I go for gold with warm pinks and any green….I have discovered ….I actually enjoy silver with these colors as well. First, I silver heat embossed the ornaments and the sentiment from the Christmas Gleaming Cling Stamp set onto some Whisper White card stock. I also silver heat embossed the dotted lines from the Ornamental Envelopes stamp set. I thought the dotted lines would be a perfect representation of cording hanging the ornaments from somewhere above. The finishing touch to this card front is watercoloring the ornaments in Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron. For a little bit more interest I suggested a bit of highlighting on the left side of each ornament. Happy with this arrangement, I used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out finished panel for the front of the card. I matted this panel with a piece of Blushing Bride card stock then attached the duo to the front of the Whisper White Thick Card base. Inside the card I stamped the same ornaments in Blushing Bride and Mint Macaron.

Dimensions:

  • Card base: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ – Standard A2 side folding card base.
  • Stitched Rectangle Front Panel: 3-3/8″ x 4-3/4″ (Next to largest die)
  • Blushing Bride Mat: 3-1/2″ x 4-7/8″

Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit.
