Love Crafting for Global Design
Hey everyone, so glad you could stop by! I hope you enjoy your visit.
Today I have for you a card designed for Global Design Project. This week the theme is For the Love of Craft! #GDP199.
The card base for this card is a Whisper White Thick standard side folding card cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″.
Water color paper takes center stage and survived a good round of playing with Pigment Sprinkles colors Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight. It may not look like Bermuda Bay, though there are hints of it, it combined with the Daffodil Delight and blended into a gorgeous green. Love how these color combined and created a great background. Once this was dry, I combined Frost White Shimmer with some 70% rubbing alcohol in a spritzer and gave this piece a good bit of shimmer. Once this was dry, I heat embossed in white an image from Crafting Forever, then used the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out the image. In another area of the same water color paper, I heat embossed in white a sentiment from the same set and cut out with a smaller Stitched Rectangle Die. From a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock scrap I used the Story Label Punch to create a mat for the sentiment.
Using two larger Stitched Rectangle Dies, I created a “frame” for the focal image. On Gray Granite I stamped with Gray Granite Ink Crafting Tools Background stamp from Hero Arts.
Now all the parts and pieces come together. A Melon Mambo mat is attached to the Whisper White card base with liquid adhesive. The Gray Granite stamped mat is attached to a piece of fun foam with liquid adhesive, I really love the stability this adds to the card. The Melon Mambo “frame” is also attached in the center of the Gray Granite mat with liquid adhesive. The Water color paper focal image is also attached to a smaller piece of fun foam with liquid adhesive and then attached in the center of the “frame”. The sentiment is attached to the Story Label Punch mat which is attached on top of it all with dimensionals.
Inside the card to carry the theme and the dominate Melon Mambo color through, I stamped some smaller crafty items in the lower right right corner. Did some water coloring and splattering with Melon Mambo on the images. Couldn’t let the shimmer spritz be the only bling! I added some sequins from the Iridescent Sequin Assortment and a little bit of Linen Thread, then I could call it finished. After all this is a crafty challenge, gotta get crafty with it…..right?
Thanks again for stopping, I hope you enjoyed this creation! If you would like to learn more about the challenge and see what the Designer Team Members created for this challenge, head on over to Global Design Project. I shall return shortly with another creation, in the mean time, keep crafting, exploring and creating.
