It’s time for a sketch challenge this week at Global Design Project. Here’s the sketch for this week’s challenge #GDP278:

Of course, I had to go with the holiday Du Jour – Valentines Day. I had several thoughts that popped into my mind for this sketch, so I had to follow them all through – here is what I came up with.

The card of choice for challenge is the Petal Pink card base with Real Red solid heart. I felt it most closely followed the sketch and was a bit happier than its masculine gray and black counterpart pictured above. The question is which one did I like best. Since the sketch went Landscape top folding card, so shall my card.

They all came together pretty easily, once I worked out which direction my head was trying to go. Predominately die cutting, a tiny bit of stamping and primarily focused on one bundle with a little help from its closest friend. I used Blushing Bride, Rococo Rose and Real Red for the colorful designs. The more masculine cards use Silver Foil, Basic Gray, Basic Black and Smokey Slate.
