In this post I have for you a card created for the TGIF Challenges #TGIFC231 Inspiration Challenge. I had made the choice to focus on one stamp set a week and work through whatever challenges I could accomplish with the same set/bundle. However for this challenge, I took their Inspiration to mean things from the Annual Catalog, so that is where I went. Every now and again, it is good to get a reminder that there are other items and another catalog that is still just as relevant as the Holiday Catalog we are focused on at the moment. For this inspiration I went to my Annual Catalog favorite – the Noble Peacock Suite found on page 25-26 of the Annual Catalog. The gorgeous rich regal colors will not leave my head and the possibilities are endless as to how this peacock can be represented. I stayed true to the suite with this card.
This card starts with a half sheet of Blueberry Bushel cut to 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ to be a top folding card. The mat is a piece of Old Olive cardstock with strips of the Specialty Designer Series Paper from the Noble Peacock Suite. A strip of the foiled Blueberry Bushel pattern, a thin strip of the Old Olive Foil and a piece of Blueberry Bushel embossed with the Beads and Baubles Embossing Folder for a bit of texture.
The “star of the show” peacock is stamped in Blueberry Bushel on Whisper White card, then gently water colored with Pretty Peacock and Blueberry Bushel ink, then gold heat embossed and die cut with the coordinating dies and then attached to the mat with dimensionals. The sentiment “You are Incredible” is from the Royal Peacock stamp set and is also gold embossed on a strip of Blueberry Bushel and attached to the mat with dimensionals.
I am not one to forget the card inside, so the inside is lined with a piece of Whisper White, then a thin strip of the Old Olive foiled pattern in the Specialty Designer Series Paper.
This is such a gorgeous suite, the colors are just breath taking, just as beautiful as the Peacock truly is.
