Some kits just hit you the right way and your brain just explodes with tons of ideas…..this was a kit just like that for me. The October 2020 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Joy to the World. The included stamp set, die cuts, twine, cards and envelopes were so versatile. I couldn’t keep up with all the ideas and other things in my stash that could work in tandem with the kit. I did pull in additional cardstock in Just Jade, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso and Cherry Cobbler, ribbon, gold heat embossing, embossing folders, stitched shapes dies and Stitched Rectangle dies (which are similar to the included die cut tags included in the kit). I played around with the soon to be released Curvy collection as well – coming your way 3 November. Which is super fun in its own right and another post. This card I used a standard A2 side folding card base in Early Espresso cut to 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. I used Crumb Cake cardstock on the front and inside cut to 5-1/4″ x 4″. For the front panel I stamped the flower image from the included stamp set with Versa Mark all over the crumb cake mat. Then using one of the border dies from the soon to release Curvy Dies. I accented the border with a strip of brushed metallic gold cardstock. I attached a strip of the red liner from the included envelopes on the front of the crumb cake mat, and finished the mat off with some Early Espresso Suede ribbon. The finished mat is attached to the card with liquid glue. To finish off the front of the card, I glued one of the included gold words “love” to an embossed white card included in the kit, that I cut in half. I attached that with dimensionals to the card front and the final flourish is one of the die cut flowers from the kit, that replicate the stamp used on the Crumb Cake Mat. Inside I layer a piece of Whisper White to the earlier cut Crumb Cake to create the liner. I stamped the flower on the liner using the baby wipe as a stamp pad technique. Used a left over sliver of crumb cake at the bottom as a border.
Both of these cards also use the Curvy Dies the only real difference here is the card base is Whisper White Thick cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. Cherry Cobbler cardstock and Very Vanilla metallic ribbon colored with a Stampin’ Blends Cherry Cobbler Dark marker. More of the envelope liner is used and the crumb cake pieces are actually the back side of the card bases included in the kit. the top card uses a portion of the”cable knit” embossed on white cardstock with another gold die cut word “Peace”. The 2nd card uses one of the included die cut flowers.
