In case you have lost track of your days, as I have, Mother’s Day is Sunday 10 May 2020. This blog hop was an eye opener for me….I can’t believe it is already time to start thinking about this. But glad to have something other than current events to wrap my head around and something to keep my fingers busy. Hope you are enjoying this toast to Mother’s everywhere Blog Hop, hope this hop is getting your creative juices flowing, lets hop right into my Mother’s Day Card.

I had a dream about this card – I couldn’t come up with what I wanted to do, so many thoughts, I couldn’t land one. Finally this one came to me over my cup of morning coffee. It’s a bit busier than what I typically come up with, but I really do like how this one turned out. Thankfully, when I find a die that I think will be a go to, I cut several of that die, in colors I think I will most likely use or in white so I can spray or watercolor them in the desired color. That was just the case with this card, most of the die cuts I had already created and luckily they were in colors that worked perfectly with the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper. I pulled from the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set and its Sale-A-Bration Coordinating die Nature’s Thoughts, the Painted Labels Dies from the Painted Poppies Bundle, the Tags, Tags, Tags die set from the Holiday Catalog, the Thoughtful Blooms stamp set from Sale-A-Bration and it coordinating punch Small Bloom Punch. The sentiment “Happy Mother’s Day” from the Timeless Tulips Stamp set is gold heat embossed on vellum and backed with Pretty Peacock cardstock. Continued to use the previously created flowers, butterflies and leaf stems inside the card, I hate to leave out the inside!

The Butterflies are from the Butterfly Gala stamp set and punched with the Butterfly Duet Punch. Here again, I created several watercolor or Pigment Sprinkles backgrounds in the colors that tickled my fancy at the time. I stamped the patterned butterflies that I like the most from the Butterfly Gala Stamp set and punched a ton of them out. I have many, many, many, little butterflies and large butterflies. I have used colored gilding wax on the back of the large cut butterflies to finish them off, then attached antennae, made from jewelry wire, with hot glue to their backs.
