Today, I have a card created for the CAS Colour & Sketches Sketch Challenge #359. Hop on over to CC&S, take a look around, learn more about our challenges, I would love to see you playing along with us with a design by you! Come on over, here is what I have came up with.
It is so crazy to me how some sketch or color challenges can just hit you and off you go knowing exactly what is going to happen. Then others are the biggest conundrum to have ever confronted you. Why is that? This sketch, thankfully, chose the first option for me. There was absolutely no doubt what I was going to do. An umbrella, galoshes and some rainy weather is just what this sketch ordered! Oddly enough….the day this card came to life we received 3″ of rain!
This card begins with a typical side opening Whisper White card base. The mat is also a piece of Whisper White card stock run through the embossing machine using the Subtle 3D embossing folder. For the background circle I used the Stitched Shapes Circle die to cut a Daffodil Delight Circle. I used a circle punch to cut the circle from the Pleased as Punch Designer Series Paper which is a New Release Coordination Item for the Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. The Umbrellas on the front and inside were cut from this same DSP pack. This pack of DSP is designed to coordinate with the New punches released in the Mini-Catalog and Sale-A-Bration catalogs. The Coordinating stamp set is Under My Umbrella is where the Galoshes and sentiment, stamped in Balmy Blue, “Rain or Shine you’re always on my mind” come from. The galoshes are colored with Calypso Coral Combo Blends Markers and Balmy Blue Blends marker. The sentiment was stamped on Whisper White and cut with the Pretty Label Punch. The mat for the sentiment is a piece of Daffodil Delight scrap also cut with the Pretty Label Punch, but it is cut in half, separated a bit, attached to the back of the sentiment to appear as a larger mat. This punch also resembled a cloud to me, so I thought that worked nicely! Inside I punched out an open umbrella of the same pattern with the same Umbrella Builder Punch.
