Card Challenges

Royal Peacock hopes to Inspire. Create.

Hey everyone, thanks so much for stopping by!

Today I have a card that was inspired by the color challenge #046 at Inspire. Create Stamping Challenges. The color challenge they have created for us is to use the new 2019-2021 In-colors from Stampin’ Up!. Which is a tiny bit of a challenge, but I put myself to the task and this is what I have come up with.

Peacocks being the beautiful colorful creatures that they are, I felt was quite fitting for incorporating all of the In-colors. So to start, I washed a piece of Whisper White Cardstock with all of the 2019-2021 In-colors ink pads (excluding Purple Posy), using a sponge dauber. Once that dried and I was happy with how everything came together, I cut out the peacock with the very detailed peacock from the Detailed Peacock die set. I cut another peacock from Gold Foil to layer underneath. I attached the combined peacock to a piece of Pretty Peacock Cardstock cut down to fit the Purple Posy cardstock mat. I attached a 1/2″ sliver of Noble Peacock Designer Series Paper (DSP) to the side of the Pretty Peacock card, then covered the seam with the coordinating 3/8″ Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon, using double sided tape.

I gold embossed the sentiment “You are Incredible” from the Royal Peacock stamp set in the upper right corner. To finish off the peacock I attached some coordinating sequins from the Woven Threads Sequin Assortment to the tail feathers. The completed panel was then attached to the Thick Whisper White card base using Adhesive Strips for a bit more dimension.

Inside the card, I attached a sliver of the matching Designer Series Paper to add interest inside.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed this card. If you have a spare minute and want to learn more about the challenge and see what the Design Team Members created hop on over to Inspire. Create Stamping Challenge. I must leave you, in the mean time, keep crafting. I will be back with more real soon.
