Perennial & Magnolia unite to face Global Design Project Challenge

Hey everyone, thanks so much for stopping by! I really do appreciate the time you spend with me.

Today I have a card created for a challenge over at Global Design Project #GDP196. The challenge is to Case the Designer. In this case the designer is Connie Collins.

Here is my take on the challenge, its pretty understated, but I like to think of it as understated elegance! I wanted the flowers and sentiment to be the focal point without much distraction.

Very few items were used to create this card and its a pretty straight forward color scheme. I had to use the Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper because it is absolutely gorgeous and this seemed like a great place to exhibit one of the smaller patterns in the series and to set the color scheme. I used the large and 2 smaller flowers from the Good Morning Magnolia Stamp set and colored all 3 with Stampin’ Blends Markers. For the leaves I used Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Combo and a dash of Dark So Saffron Stampin’ Blends markers.

I created the stitched frame with the Stitched Rectangle Dies using 2 different sizes that allowed for a border on the card and frame large enough to handle the flowers and the DSP.

The frame is attached to the card base with foam strips, while the flowers are simply attached with liquid glue.
