Well another week has gone by and I have to stuck to my personal challenge to use one stamp set all week! Challenge accepted, now I have to figure out which set moves my muse for next week! I got the idea for this card and hoped with all hope I could make it work….even the best thought out plan can arye. But this plan, in my opinion worked out beautifully. This card was created for the Theme Challenge PP462 at the Paper Players, hope you like it as much as I do!

Grateful and thankful for you is what this fast approaching Holiday season is all about. Grateful and Thankful for all things big or small, human or animal.

This card begins with a half sheet of Very Vanilla Thick Card stock cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ for standard side folding card. First comes the stamping, I just love the cabin image in Rustic Retreat which is my personal stamp set challenge this week. I stamped the cabin image on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla cardstock with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The image begs to be colored so I touch with the Stampin’ Blends Markers in the Crumb Cake combo, Mossy Meadow Combo and Smoky Slate combo. The Sentiment “Season of Thanks” comes from the Gather Together Bundle. It is stamped on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla with Versamark Ink then heat embossed in Copper Embossing Powder. Now we head to the die cutting machine. The Crumb Cake mat is cut to size using the largest Stitched Rectangle Die, the Garden Green mat is also cut to size using a Stitched Rectangular Die, then the sentiment is cut to size using the smallest Stitched Rectangle Die. The rendered cabin image is cut to size using a Stitched Oval Die. The Cajun Craze mat is run through the machine using the Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder.

The leaf embellishments were die cut with the coordinating leaf dies in the Come Together Bundle called Gathered Leaves dies. I created them long ago because I just knew they would appear on several of my creations. It is a good thing as they have been a go to quite often. I created several water colored sheets to die cut the leaves from as well as Copper Foil, and various other Fallish Card stock colors. To create the water colored leaves, I applied some water to watercolor paper, then dabbed and washed the colors of Fall all over. Predominately in Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Garden Green and Real Red.

Finally after creating all the pieces the card front comes together. On the Crumb Cake mat, the Cajun Craze corrugated piece is applied with liquid glue, to that the Garden Green piece is applied with liquid glue. To the top of the Garden Green piece is the die cut cabin image is attached with liquid glue. The mostly complete panel is wrapped with Linen thread several times and tied into a knot. The sentiment goes on with dimensionals. The mostly finished panel is then attached to a piece of craft foam with liquid glue, which will give the card front a bit more lift and interest. The front unit is then attached to the card base with liquid glue. Once that has dried I attach the water color paper and Copper Foil die cut leaves with glue in the lower corner.

I can’t ignore the inside of the card, the outside must be carried in, even if it is just a little! In the lower corner of the inside another water color leaf is applied with liquid glue.

Hope you enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed seeing a plan actually come together and work out! If you would like to learn more about this challenge, meet the design team behind these challenges or to see what other creative designers created for this challenge, hop on over to the Paper Players
