Joanne has brought us, by all appearances, a simple sketch this week. Keep in mind, the simplest notions can have the biggest impacts! I am really pleased with how this card turned out. Ideas don’t always work out, but this one turned out pretty well I think. I used Cherry Cobbler Cardstock and ink to bring a punch of color, but I wanted the pinecones to take center stage. The pinecones are a 2 step stamped image. The first image is stamped is 2nd generation Soft Suede on Soft Suede cardstock, the 2nd stamped image is full strength Soft Suede. I used the 2nd stamped image for the gold embossing, just shifting it a bit so I didn’t lose the depth of the 2nd layer of Soft Suede. Repeated the process inside the card in the bottom corner. The berry stems are also Soft Suede while the berries are Cherry Cobbler. Cherry Cobbler is probably my most favorite shade of red! Not to bright and in your face — perfect. I embossed a strip of Basic White cardstock with the pine branches embossing folder in the Wintry 3D embossing folder collection, the strip is attached to a strip of Cherry Cobbler. The sentiment “Let your heart be light” from Whimsical Trees stamp set is gold embossed on Basic White and cut with Lovely Labels Pick a punch.
