Living in the South, as I do, I am so ready for cooler weather, falling leaves, the smell of cinnamon, maybe a Pumpkin Spice Latte or two (Kinda over it), apple cider…..the list is endless. Fall in Birmingham Al. means still really hot, very dry but yet humid conditions. The leaves are only falling because the the ground is so dry and the air is soooo hot!

I digress!

Back to what you are here for! This card starts with a half sheet Garden Green cardstock card base cut to 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ for a standard top folding card. The Very Vanilla focal panel is dry embossed with the Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. I love this folder, I am a brick girl, love the texture and pattern. This is a fun one for background coloring as well.

On wet Watercolor paper, I washed on stripes of Merry Merlot, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Garden Green, Old Olive, and Gorgeous Grape. Allowing those to dry thoroughly, I then spritzed one sheet with mixture of Frost White Shimmer Paint with Alcohol, then allowed that to dry completely. Using the Gathered Leaves Dies from the Gather Together Bundle, I wasn’t to sure of the direction I was going yet so I die cut several leaves in the colors listed above as well as a few in Copper and Gold. Never hurts to have extras at the ready. This bundle is high on my list of favorites, extras will not go to waste. Using the All Around Wreath Dies from the Tidings All Around Bundle (another favorite – I’ll give it a top 5 standing), I cut 2 wreaths one from the watercolored shimmer spritzed sheet and another from the spritz free sheet, then glued them together with liquid glue, being sure to put the shimmery wreath on top. I then came up with how the die cut leaves were to be arranged on the wreath. I struggled with this because, I had so many options and arrangements running in my head and none of them turned out the way I was picturing. So to say the least I now have a variety of leaf sprigs, bows, leaves and the like ready for another day.

Finally, I settled on 2 die cut copper leaves, a Cajun Craze Leaf and an Copper Leaf Trinket. The Sentiment “Wishing you Well” is stamped in Delicata Copper on Very Vanilla and die cut with one of the Ornate Frames Dies from the Spooktacular Bash Bundle. I used the same die to create the Garden Green mat behind the sentiment, using the die cutting extension trick of sliding down the die to create something shorter, longer, thinner, larger, etc. Then to finish off the sentiment and to make it look like a plaque or a finished piece on a wall, I used copper brads on both ends. With the wreath finalized and glued together, then sentiment stamped and glued together it is now time to attach both pieces to the card front. The wreath is attached to dry embossed Very Vanilla panel with mini dimensionals. The Sentiment “Plaque” is attached with tear n tape to the finished panel, so that the brads won’t wiggle around. The Very Vanilla panel is glued to the Cajun Craze mat and then attached to the card base with dimensionals.

The inside is not to be ignored! Inside is simply lines with a cut to size piece of Very Vanilla and embellished in the lower right corner with 3 leaves, Copper, Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze, adhered with liquid glue.

Congratulations to last months winner. Don’t forget to enter #stampitcontest in the comment section below for your chance to be randomly selected for the Notes of Kindness Card Kit, pictured below.

Shannon, I love your fall colored wreath you made for the card. I just got that set in this last week, from my friendly UPS man! I just love that you water colored it, then spritzed it with shimmer. I just started taking a watercolor class this last week and I like it so very much. It’s something that I’ve wanted to do for such a long time. So, thank you for sharing this wonderful card with all of us. I love it, that so many of you gals are so very talented and like to share your talents with the rest of us!
