A new week brings a new challenge from Global Design Project #GDP254. This week is a sketch challenge.

My take on the Global Design Project Sketch challenge revolves around the Celebrating Sunflowers stamp set from the Annual Catalog. It can also be part of a bundle, that includes the coordinating dies. I used the flower die and center from the die set. Couldn’t be a better color to represent the sunflowers than the In-color Bumble Bee – – has got to be my hands down favorite color from the new release. I used the ink, the cardstock, In-color 6′ x6″ DSP collection using this color and the ribbon to match.

I inked the edges of the Bumble Bee card with Bumble Bee ink, ran the inked card through an embossing machine using the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder from the Ornate Garden Suite of products. I lightly inked the floral impression with Bumble Bee ink again to give it more prominence. Another In-color fav is Cinnamon Cider, which I used as the centers of the flowers. The centers were also run through the embossing machine with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing folder to give them a bit of texture, in keeping with the texture found in the center of a sunflower. I really love the rustic look of this card, the coordinating tag I created takes the rustic look a bit farther. Garden Green ink and Linen Thread helps to keep everyone grounded. Thanks a bunch greeting is also from Celebrating Sunflowers. I used a die from the All Dressed up Dies, using the technique that extends the length of the original die, to cut out the greeting.

Inside the card, I stamped the sunflower again, but as a 2nd generation stamping. I brightened it a bit using some of the water color pencils to help it pop a bit more, but still keeping it soft.

Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit.
