Wildly Happy!

Today I am working with a sketch challenge from CAS(E) this sketch! CTS #330.
I have been wanting to use this set for a very long and just have not been able to circle around to it, I have too many other sets that I love working with. I finally pushed them aside and went with this adorable set. Such a sweet set, can’t help but love it! I felt like this lent itself so well to this sketch. A single image that relays the feeling/message this card is trying to get across, with a sentiment that fits the feeling perfectly.
To me, this sketch implied a single focal image. I felt like the single focal image needed to invoke the feeling this card is going for. Nothing sweeter than animals loving on their young. I chose the Panda image for this card because I love panda’s and the image seemed to fit best for the look I was going for.
The card base is a standard side folding Whisper White Thick card stock cut at 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. I used the Stitched Nested dies to first cut out a window in the card base and a larger size to cut out a window in a piece of Purple Posy cardstock, which acts as the frame to the panda image.
On a piece of Whisper White card, I stamped the Panda image with Basic Gray, then used some of that ink to water color the black areas of the pandas. I came back with the water color pencils and added a bit more shading to the blackened areas. To provide some grounding I went in with the Old Olive water color pencil, then ran the aqua brush over to soften the look. After all that dried, I stamped the sentiment from Sweet Storybook below in Memento Tuxedo Black ink.
I adhered the cardstock with the color image inside the front panel of the card base with liquid adhesive. To the front of the card base, I adhered the Purple Posy framed panel with foam adhesive trips to give some lift and interest. To finish off the card I attached a few sequins from the Woven Threads Sequin Assortment.
