What? 5 weeks in May you say. Absolutely! So for our 5th and final challenge of May CAS Colours & Sketches brings you a double dousey. The Double Challenge – combines Stampin’ Up! retired colors – names and colors are used for reference only – and a sketch from deep within the CC&S archives. Are you ready…lets see what you can pull out for this one. Can’t wait to see what your creative minds come up with, please post your card creation to our Challenge Gallery here.

I shocked myself with this one! I just pulled together challenges that I liked, not really thinking about what I had on had – at all! Then it dawned on me….I may not have any of these colors in my stash….what will I use now. No worries I had a non-Stampin’ Up! backup plan – but tis always better, as the hostess, to have what you need. Luckily – I had Berry Burst in Paper and ink, Lemon Lime Twist in DSP and Ink and Island Indigo in cardstock only. Shew! That hurdle was crossed. Now what the heck to create with this combinations I had to work with. You see the final outcome. Dragonflies and Daisies. I don’t know about the rest of the world but here in the Southeast USA we have dragonflies galore and they come in so many different colors – I have actually seen them in the Island Indigo color around our pool, but I was set on that being the card base, especially since I had nothing else to use in the colorway. So that left the dragon fly and daises to Berry Burst. The daisies are stamped on white cardstock with berry burst and punched out with the a medium daisy punch. The dragon fly is stamped on Vellum, then punched out with the Dragonfly punch, then another dragon fly punched from vellum to give it more of a 3d effect. I tapped my finger on the Lemon Lime Twist stamp pad to give the daisies a punch of color in the center, then used it again to stamp the sentiment and another dragonfly on vellum and punched with the dragonfly punch for inside the card. I did use a retired embossing folder, Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder – my favorite texture folder by the way…..sniffle sniffle…. on the top panel of the card front for a little texture.
