Welcome to June my crafty friends. A new month means a new hostess and a fresh set of ideas for our weekly challenges as CAS Colours & Sketches. The CC&S hostess for this month is Samantha, she has pulled together a gorgeous, light, fun and summery collection of colors (including purple…personal favorite) for the first color challenge of June. As a mentioned, I love this color combination – especially since purple is involved. These colors have come together at a perfect time, because I need a birthday card for my sister, who happens to love these colors! The first thought that came to my mind was a meadow, or something flowery, with maybe some butterflies. A stamp set with a coordinating die set also quickly popped into mind. An idea was born, however, it wasn’t exactly simple. Do you do this too? The idea had to get out of my head, which means I had to make it, so new thoughts could come together in my head. Almost like the dominate thought takes over and nothing is getting through that idea (like a dam), till you let it out, then new things begin popping in and there is the best Eureka moment. All that to simply say, I have created 2 cards for this challenge – the first one is a bit more involved than the second – with die cutting and layers. While this card becoming reality, the second card was born, I think I love it more than the first.

The second card is simply stamping. I stamped the Gorgeous Grape flower, masked it, stamped the leaves and little flowers. Did a bit of colored pencil work, and this beauty was born. I believe I love it so much more than the first. Sometimes, that is just how it goes.
