It’s a brand new month which means we have a brand new hostess and a brand new set of challenges! Vicki gets us started this month with some super fun and bright colors for our Color Challenge #440 at CAS Colours & Sketches. We would love to see what you create with this fun color scheme. Please consider posting your card on our blog, so we can see where your imagination took you!
Everyone is getting into the Christmas crafts frame of mind, so I thought I would turn these colors into a bright Holiday card. Upper 80’s and a beautiful sunny day don’t exactly push me in the holiday direction, but when blindsided by my daughter asking if we could put up the christmas tree…..already…… (Solid NO on that one – we wait for Thanksgiving/ late November – need a few more leaves on the ground, shorter days and a bit of a nip in the air!) after recovering from the surprise of it all, the mind started turning.
Basic White card base and a Basic White panel die cut with a Stitched Rectangle die. I used the Rectangle outline image from the Sale-a-bration stamp set Textures and Frames, stamped in Pacific Point, Poppy Parade and Garden Green. Then stamped the ornament images from Stars are Shining in Memento Black ink inside each rectangle. Then using and Aqua Painter I used a tiny bit of the rectangles corresponding color to paint inside the ornament. Whala – Just that simple!

It might be too early for the tree, but Christmas cards are definitely a go! Lovecthe way you framed those ornaments Shannon – it adds a modern, contemporary feel. I’m saving that idea!
It’s never too early to get some Christmas cards under your belt and what a gorgeous card Shannon! I love the rectangle shapes and the corresponding colour of ornament inside. I’m with you though – nice to enjoy a little autumn before the Christmas decorations go up!
Awww…cute story! She helped inspire a beautiful card.
