I have returned with another Journal that I hope will peak your interests. As with my other journal I previously posted which was inspired by weekly challenges set out by the super talented ladies of Mixed Media Emporium, I also take part in another group called Mixed Media Morsels. This group is led by Cat Hand who sets up monthly challenges to inspire journaling for the full year. This year we are doing a Book of Colors. Create the journal anyway you see fit, with whatever materials you have. For my journal I purchased her kit because it was small and cute. Still left to my devices for decor, though items were included in the kit. The first months challenge is Red. Here is how this journal goes. #mmmbookofcolors
Included in Cat’s kit for this Book of Colors journal was the canvas used as the cover (simply folded at spine and the edges to create sleeves for the journal itself – which was also included), a quarter of a napkin with the circles you see attached to the canvas cover. Along with a little bag of several little odds and ends to get you started on the colors journal.
First I cut out the circles, then removed the layers of napkin and adhered each circle to the canvas with matte medium. The kit came wrapped in some tissue paper that had been taped with washi tape. I used the the tissue along the bottom of the front and back cover and reused the black and white washi tape along the edges. In the end I sewed the top and bottom edges to create the inside sleeves that will hold the cover of the booklet included in the kit.
Thanks again for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me. I hope you enjoyed learning about how this card came together. Hopefully you were even inspired just a bit. I will return soon with something new. Until then, stay safe, stay healthy and without doubt, keep on crafting, exploring and creating. Have a happy, safe and healthy holiday season. Chat with you soon.
