CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge #320

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by!

Today I have for you a card I created for the CAS Colours & Sketches Challenges – Challenge #320 Colours. The colors that are to be included in this challenge are referenced with Stampin’ Up! product and are to come as close as possible to these colors: Mango Melody, Garden Green and Melon Mambo. I am a demonstrator for Stampin’ Up!, just started in January. I am unfamiliar with Garden Green so the closest I think I could get is Old Olive. I love Old Olive so I was quite happy to roll with it! These colors could be combined with any Neutral.

The card I have for you today is using a set that is one of the newest editions to the Brand New Annual Catalog that will be released 4 June. It is part of Suite of products called Bird Ballad. It has accompanying dies that are an elongated hexagon (Stitched Nested Labels Dies), Gorgeous Designer Series Paper (DSP) and a selection of ribbon and embellishments. So excited to be a demonstrator at this time, because there is so many new sets that I am beyond excited to get my hands on, call it a perk of being a demonstrator. I adore this set, I didn’t use the coordinating DSP because it did not include the colors needed for this challenge. Believe you me, you will see it soon enough, just got my haul last night!

I begin with a Whisper White Thick Card base. On a piece of Whisper White cardstock, I stamp this image of birds on a limb in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored the limb with Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends, Dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends and Bronze Stampin Blends. The leaves are filled in with Dark and Light Old Olive. I used Light and Dark Mango Melody for the flowers. Melon Mambo is not available in Stampin’ Blends so I water colored the birds bellies with Melon Mambo Stamp pad. The sentiment I stamped just under the limb is from the Free as a Bird stamp set, and is in Mango Melody. I used Old Olive for the mat, I gave it a bit of detail using the Delicate Lace Edgelit Dies. I cut down the whisper white panel to fit on the die cut Old Olive Cardstock mat. I cut a thin strip of Mango Melody cardstock to give a pop of color/trim above the lace detail. Inside the card I stamped a flower and leafy branch from the Free as Bird stamp set using Mango Melody and Old Olive.

So glad you took the time to stop by and hope you enjoyed my creation. The stamp set will release to the public 4 June, but if you saw any products that peeked your interest, click the link below.
