Card Challenges

Celebrating Circles with a color challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches.

Hey! Thanks for stopping by my little happy spot. Take a look around and hope you enjoy.

We would love to see what card creation you can bring to life. Please consider, taking a minute to post your card creation in our challenge gallery at CAS Colours & Sketches.

Welcome to our new friends and welcome back to our old friends, so glad you are joining us at CAS Colours & Sketches in 2021! Lets pick ourselves up by our boot straps, take a deep breath and get this year kicked off with a bright and happy colour challenge. Our team member Jeanne is our hostess this month, she has brought together Pool Party, Cherry Cobbler and Bermuda Bay for our 1st color challenge of the year. So anxious to see what you guys create with these colors and please do share your creations with at CAS Colours & Sketches.

I had two ideas for this challenge and I couldn’t decide really which one I wanted to go with, by popular household vote the the winner for posting purposes is the Hi There! card. On this blog post, I present both creations to you! I am curious which one is your favorite, please let me know your thoughts in the comment section below.

Both cards use the Decorative Masks (stencil) dots with Cherry Cobbler Ink, blended with Stampin’ Up!’s brand new Blending Brushes. The sentiments for both cards come from another brand new item that will definitely become a sentiment staple for me, Many Messages Bundle, and a brand new stamp set called Circle Celebration.

The second card I created, was actually inspired by a YouTuber …I am sorry to say I did not write down her name, I will try to find the video again (so far not much success) so you can watch her video. Essentially the circle background is a piece of acetate, with strips of various sizes in Bermuda Bay and Pool Party cardstock. The strips are glued to a piece of acetate that was cut with the 2-7/16″ layering circle die. The strips are trimmed around the circle. The acetate circle is attached to the card front using mini-dimensionals to ramp up the coolness factor!

Nice take on the colors! And I love the dot stencil you used for this card. 🙂

I think on balance the first one is my favourite Shannon but I must confess I overlooked this set too – I think maybe I should revisit!

Thank you! I love circles, they always catch my eye. My art journals are loaded with circles, dots, etc. love ’em.

Thank you! I love circles! My art journals always have tons and tons of circles, they are so organic and to some extent unexpected.

Love your card Shannon 🙂 I look past this set originally, I’m going to have to go back and re-think it. Love how you used it.

These are wonderful cards Shannon. I admit that this stamp set did not “speak to me” but now you have me rethinking it. I may have to give it a go!
