Earth Day
Hey, thanks for stopping by my blog! In honor of Earth Day, which is coming up 21 April 2019 and also this is my creation for a challenge at
Festive Friday a Paper Crafting Challenge Blog #FF0031
Earth Day is a day to celebrate mother Earth. Everyday she should be treated with love and respect, she has so much to offer. I loved this card challenge because it put a new spin on how to think about designing a card. Rainbows and/or Earth day. Well I love rainbows and if my daughter ever learned that I had a rainbow challenge and didn’t take it, she would speak with all the unicorns of the world and have them come after me, not to mention her own wrath.
This was really fun, I didn’t want to represent the earth as the perfect beautiful plant we see from space. Reality is, while she is perfect and beautiful on the outside, due to our indulgences she is quite sick on the inside. The people using her to live – from all ethnicities, race, and religions also are troubled in one way or another in their own ways. Therefore, I felt the swirls from the Swirly Scribbles die set, absolutely reflected the imperfect balance. The rainbow is water-colored on water color paper. The black card stock is splattered with white paint pen to reflect outer space. The “Love” sentiment is from Sunshine wishes Die set, I cut the word with the Big Shot about 6 times, glued each layer together, then coated the top layer in Wink of Stella. Its hard to see in the photos, but it is there.
