Free as a Bird visits with Sunday Stampers

Hey everyone, thanks for stopping by!

Today I have a card created for the Sunday Stamps Sketch Challenge SSC208.

For some reason, I was very intimidated by this sketch. Not to sure why, but I immediately kind of panicked at first sight. Then I got into it and found it to be a lot of fun!

Once I figured out what I was doing and where I was going, I chose Crumb Cake Card stock to be the card base. The Card base is the standard side opening card 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. The mat for the card base is a Petal Pink script pattern from the Subtles 6″x6″ DSP. The vertical strip of patterned paper is from the Bird Ballad 12″ x 12″ DSP. The trim down each side of the strip is Sarah Sand Woven Threads Trim with the outer edge unraveled (I pulled the string off at the ends of the tassels). It looks so pretty unraveled like that. The focal point image is from the stamp set Free As a Bird, while the sentiment is from the To a Wild Rose Stamp Set. They are stamped on a piece of Whisper White that was cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies. The Bird is colored with the Stampin’ Blends Markers Combo Pack of Petal Pink, Pool Party and the Light Stampin Blends of Smokey Slate. This was given a mat of Crumb Cake and attached to the front of the card using dimensionals.

Inside the card is not to be forgotten, in the bottom right corner, I stamped the bird image again and colored the same way as I did on the front.
