Frightfully Cute Halloween card

I am moving on to a few Halloween cards, all of the cards are born from the Frightfully Cute Bundle with a little bit of Welcoming Window Bundle and sentiments from Time for Giving and Sparkle of the Season stamp sets. There’s a bit of Mixed Media thrown in with some watercolor backgrounds on watercolor paper, spritzing and splattering with Stampin’ Up! Inks.

For this card begins with a Basic Black A2 card base – 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″. Stitched Rectangles dies are used to create the mat from Smoky Slate and Crumb Cake cardstock. Edges are inked in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The brick image from Welcoming Window is stamped in Cajun Craze around the location of the window on the Crumb Cake cardstock. Pumpkin Pie and Smoky Slate ink are sprayed all over the crumb cake rectangle. The window image from Welcoming Window is stamped on Basic White card in Basic Gray ink, colored with the watercolor pencils and Smoky Slate Light Blends. I drew in the broken glass with a journaling pen and accented with white pencil. The spiders and the sentiment Boo are black heat embossed. The spider web die cut from the Frightful Tag dies is cut from Black Glitter Paper. The mats are glued together and then to the card base. The window and spider web are attached with dimensionals. The card is lined inside with a quarter piece of Basic White Cardstock, another spider is black heat embossed from the quarter of the spider web cut from the front web. I love how the black heat embossing makes the spiders seem to jump off the card, definitely adds some depth that adds to the spookiness that spiders naturally have.
