Team Stamp It – September Blog Hop – Halloween & Fall Theme

Lets get Spooky!

Everything used for this card came from the Frightfully Cute Bundle (turns out cute can be pretty scary). To start I created a watercolor background using the smooshing technique and a little bit of spritzing. I prepared a spritz bottle for each color; Memento Tuxedo Black, Gorgeous Grape, Polished Pink and Pumpkin Pie, mixing several drops with about half a tube of water. On a silicone kitchen mat, I used the ink pads to add a smoosh or two of each color, then spritzed with water. Then simply smooshed the watercolor paper into each color, using the heat gun to dry the ink between each and every smoosh. I created several backgrounds to have some on hand – I loved how they turned out and no two are exactly the same. Once those were created and totally dry, I used a Stitched Rectangles die for the background, then placed it on a mat of Basic Black.

Everything else was mostly die cutting – the tree and stars from Black Glitter paper, the fence is Cinnamon Cider, the moon is Smoky Slate – 2nd generation – stamped on Very Vanilla. The bats and sentiment are black heat embossed. Pretty easy to get together once the idea made itself known! Once the panel was put together and matted, I attached it to the Crumb Cake card base with Adhesive Backed Foam. The foam sheet just makes the panel feel more solid – I prefer that feel over dimensionals – when it comes to panels

Inside, it may not be necessary but I just like the look of a liner of a quarter piece of Very Vanilla. Stamped with 2nd generation Smoky Slate for the moon, the bats simply stamped with Memento Black and additional stars on Black Glitter Paper (I ran the stars die through the die cutter several times) I knew they would be quite useful! Then a thin strip of black sky from the watercolor background, as a border.
