Here we go with week #2 of me, hosting for the month of November at CAS Colours & Sketches! I am so excited to play with the color combination of Purple Posy, Basic Gray and Blackberry Bliss. Call it Christmas on the brain, or, a deep rooted desire to get 2020 out of here and in my rear view mirror. So here we go with a cool “snowy” pine tree scene. I start with Whisper White thick card stock as a card base, cut to a standard A2 size: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″ for a landscape card, opening at the bottom. On a quarter piece (1/4) of Whisper White cardstock, I first use a retired background stamp from “Love What You Do” stamped a couple of times in Purple Posy. From the “Waterfront” stamp set I used a watery or shaded image that is stamped with Blackberry Bliss a few times without re-inking. From the “In the Pines” Bundle I used the cluster of smaller pines image for background and stamped them with Basic Gray and stamped over with the filler image in Basic Gray. With this stamping completed I headed to my embossing machine with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder to add some texture to the scene. Using one of the stitched rectangle dies I cut out the mostly finished panel. Using the next size up Stitched Rectangle die I cut the Blackberry Bliss mat. Using the coordinating dies “Pine Woods Dies” I die cut a pine in Basic Gray cardstock. I attached the pine with liquid glue to the Whisper White panel and then attached the finished panel to the Blackberry Bliss mat with glue. The greeting “Season’s Greeting” is in the “In the Pines” stamp set. I stamped the greeting in Blackberry Bliss on a scrap piece of Whisper White 1/2″ wide, then cut out the sentiment with the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch and attached to the card front with dimensionals. Inside the card gets some much needed love, by stamping again the small cluster of pines with a Purple Posy snowy sky.
