Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlight May 2019

Hello everyone, thanks so much for stopping by for a bit. Today I am bringing to you a card created for Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlight for May. The Theme is Encouragement, which is something all of us need every day, either in big ways or fairly subtle ways. It is so easy to lift someones spirits just by sending a big hug in the mail. I am Pro-Snail-Mail, it is so much more personal than E-mail!

I used a card very similar to this one in another challenge, however I have bumped this one up a notch or two with ribbon and more paper just for the International Highlight. Please click HERE to vote for my card at the International Blog Highlight. The Top Ten winners will take part in an international blog hop on May 27th/28th. The Blog will go live at 4:00pm CST on Monday 6 May – in the United States.

This card was first inspired by a color challenge from Sunday Stampers, which I missed the deadline for. The card layout was inspired by a sketch challenge put out by Freshly Made Sketches, which I did make the deadline for. Shew, last time I try to take out two birds with one stone. With 2 athletic Elementary and Middle School kids at the end of the school year (known as Maycember) – it is CHAOS here, right now, to say the least!

I used 2 card bases of Mossy Meadow, with the 2 “back panels” glued together to create one card. I cut the front flaps to create what I guess could be called a Gate Fold card? or would that be more like a Garage Door Fold card? (these are called Shannonism’s) Webster’s Dictionary knows nothing about me yet! Any who, on the front of the Garage door Fold card is a Medallion with a vase and flowers created from the Vibrant Vases Stamp Set and the Vases Builder Punch. Each image was stamped using 1st and 2nd stamping. The outlines and designs are first generation of their respective color, then the fill of each image was stamped off first then placed on the image. The Medallion was punched with the Starburst punch on Whisper White, then a mat of Mossy Meadow was created with nesting circle dies. The medallion is dolled up a bit with the Heart Epoxy Droplets. The greeting comes from the Vibrant vases stamp set. The Bottom paper come from Share What You Love DSP and the top paper is the Crackle background stamp, stamped in Mossy Meadow on Whisper White. I wrapped the bottom flap in Burlap ribbon then accented with a bow from doubled up Linen Thread. I covered the exposed edges of the medallion inside the card with a layer of Whisper White stamped in Mossy Meadow with the Crackle Background stamp. I covered the edges of the ribbon on the bottom flap with more Share What you Love DSP. On a layer of Whisper White, I stamped the inside sentiment from the Enjoy Life Stamp set in Highland Heather and attached with liquid glue.
