Believe it or not…..April is here! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend and for those who celebrate Easter, I hope you had a very Happy Easter. It was a beautiful weekend in my corner of the world, for all things outdoors. With the start of a new month comes a new Hostess at CAS Colours & Sketches and a new challenge. Our hostess Wei, kicks off the month with a color challenge. We would love to see what you can create with all of our challenges, so please do share your creation by posting it to our blog.
Well lets dive right in…this is what popped into my mind.
I started stamping the floral and leaf images in the Pretty Perennials stamp set in full strength and 2nd generation. Then die cut all the images with the coordinating die set. The die set also has additional dies that offer a bit more dimension/texture to the flowers, so I cut those pieces from Bumblebee and Merry Merlot card stock. The greeting “Happy Mothers Day” comes from the Timeless Tulips stamp set and is stamped in Bumblebee – I adore this color – in my opinion, the perfect yellow. I attached all the flowers and leaves to a quarter of basic white cardstock that had been die cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles die (usually my go to die). To the finished panel I attached a bit of craft foam adhesive sheet for some elevation, then attached the foam backed panel to the card base.
Inside the card I used more of the die cut flowers that I had stamped and die cut in the earlier session. I always die cut more than I anticipate so that I have extra on the ready at any time and to be prepared for…..whatever mind changing could occur!

Thank you.
I love die cuts too! They can add so much to a design. Thank you.
Thank you!
Good idea to start on Mother’s day cards, it’s right around the corner. I’m sure this one will be a hit.
I have a soft spot for die cuts so this speaks to my heart. Beautifully arranged.
I love the way you got shades of the colours by ‘stamping off’ Shannon. The flowers are so pretty and I love the way you arranged them in a cluster and tucked the sentiment in so neatly! Glad you enjoyed a nice outdoorsy weekend. We had the most glorious weather on Easter Sunday but it actually tried to snow today!! Vicky x
