Card Challenges

Rustic Merry Moose on his way to Sunday Stamps

Hey everyone, thanks so much for stopping by and spending a bit of your time with me! Lets take a look at my latest creation.

With the help of Sunday Stamps and their sketch challenge #SSC212 I have finally created a card using Rustic Retreat from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog and the Merry Moose Bundle from the new 2019 Stampin’ Up! Holiday Catalog. I have been dreaming of this moment since these guys arrived!

I am so excited for so many reasons right now! I am finally able to use these 2 sets together, I haven’t done a card challenge in a couple of weeks, I am finally able to sit down and create some cards (kids, husband, animals and house always make sure mama’s stay busy!) AND, if that wasn’t enough, I am pulling out the gorgeous Toile Tidings DSP. If you could only see me, I am busting at the seams right now! I have mentioned before that I do love animals and that is another reason I am so anxious to use this set.

Here we go, I have to create scenes! I don’t know why, that is just the way I seem to be hard wired! From Rustic Retreat I stamped the ever so serene and beautifully located cabin with Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla with a Stitched Circle from the Stitched Shapes Dies. The cabin is colored with Bronze and Gray Granite Blends and Old Olive Stampin’ Write Marker and some of the water color pencils. I then cut another slightly larger circle from Real Red with a circle die. The Background is dry-embossed with retired Stampin’ Up! Folder called Softly Falling Snow (I think). I cut a strip of a pattern from Toile Tidings for the side accent strip. The Moose is stamped in Gray Granite on Gray Granite and shaded with a few water color pencils, then punched out with the coordinating punch.

The sentiment “Tis the Season” is from Itty Bitty Greetings and is stamped in Early Espresso on a strip of Very Vanilla then cut with Classic Label Punch. Then I cut a slightly wider strip of real red, then angled the corners to be parallel with the very vanilla strip.

Not to forget the inside of the card, I stamped the Pine Tree background image with Old Olive.

Oh, Shannon, this is brilliant – LOVE this card! The moose is a show-stopper, but what a great idea to pair him with Rustic Retreat – lovely inside, too! Thanks so much for playing at Sunday Stamps!
