While I was watching a You Tube video of Mary Deatherage, another Independent Stampin’ Up Demonstrator, show how to re-create this fun fold card. Click here to see her You Tube video, she is a hoot to watch. While watching her, it hit me, I had to use this fun fold for my Blog Hop card. I already knew I wanted to do something that featured the stunningly, gorgeous Pretty Pumpkin Bundle from the July – December 2021 Mini Catalog. I also knew I wanted to use the Cork Specialty Paper also from this catalog. The Beauty of the Earth DSP from the Annual Catalog has been screaming at me for quite sometime as well. Perfect opportunity to pull everybody together. I am in love with this very fall inspired fun fold card and it will probably be the “desk art” that greets me every day from my desk for quite some time, it makes me happy, and give me a warm and fuzzy feeling!

The root of this card base is a top folding standard A2 card, measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ scored and folded at 4-1/4″. Score the top flap of the card base at 2-1/8″. This will be the hinge of your easel. The thing to keep in mind when creating this fun fold (any easel card really) when it is set up for viewing, is that all the surfaces, aside from the back/bottom, are visible at all times and thus need some sort of attention. That is where your imagination can sore and take this fun fold where ever you want it to go. I NEEDED to use this gorgeous Pretty Pumpkin Bundle. The gold heat embossed sentiments come from the Forever Grapevine stamp set, they are die cut with the smallest tag from the Tailored Tags dies and a die from the Tasteful Labels die set. Most of the elements on the card are gold heat embossed or die cut from the Brushed Metallic Cardstock. The pumpkin vines are gold heat embossed on Basic White card, die cut with the coordinating die and colored with Light and Dark Old Olive also the Light and Dark Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends. One difference in this card from what you will see on Mary’s You Tube video is where the private message space is located. I wanted to keep that space a bit more personal, tougher to see, so I put it on the “inside” of the card under the easel and behind the focal panel. There are other subtle differences but, there is only so many directions a fun fold easel card can go. I did toy with making the bottom/back of the card the space for the personal message, I just felt like that would get lost in translation. Most everything is simply attached with liquid glue, the Cajun Craze die cut pumpkin and greeting on the front are attached with dimensionals. To finish off, the front still needs to feel a little love, so I treated it to a gorgeous bow with Gold Shimmer Ribbon.
